Using Digital Marketing to Grow Your Business – Part 2
Many small business owners we talk to, often ask us the same question: How can I acquire new customers using online marketing methods? This is the second part in our series focusing on answering that question through discussing some of the experiences our team at The Focus Group has experienced first hand.
If you missed the first part, head over here and check out Part 1 – Knowing Your Audience. It’s full of information about using free tools provided by Facebook and Google to identify and to reach out to the people which you are most interested in sharing your brand. If you’re all caught up, let’s get right into Part 2!
Repeat after me, “What you put on your website really, REALLY matters.” If you’re not posting things that you would like to see, the odds are that no one else wants to see it either.
For great content – always think in the scope of a story. What is your brand story? Tell that story through multiple photos, or if you want to get really fancy, upload a video straight to Facebook for a great opportunity to reach some new people.
PRO TIP: Don’t post the same photo over, and over. Update your content for web and Facebook at least a couple of times a week. If you’ve been doing this for a while, I recommend at least a daily post on Facebook and something new every week on your website.
TOOL: Check out this Facebook Page dedicated to updating the latest Cover and Profile dimensions. → https://www.facebook.com/PagesSizesDimensions
The second caveat to creating great content is making sure the platform it is received on is well-designed. Please hear us when we say: IF YOUR WEBSITE DOES NOT LOOK GOOD ON A MOBILE DEVICE, YOU ARE LOSING MONEY TO SOMEONE ELSE.
Here’s your checklist to see if you’re mobile ready. —
1. Can I read it?
2. Can I click the links without zooming?
3. Does it look how I want my brand to be represented?
If you answer no to any of these, it’s time to update your mobile experience.
Creating great content is fairly easy to dominate with in regard to these two guidelines – or it will at least put you ahead of competition in several ways. If you post great stuff and make sure your site looks good on a mobile device, you will elevate your business to a highly functional level.
So, if you’re keeping track. We’ve identified a few ways for you to really understand who your audience is, and how to create good content. Join us next week, as we tackle Part 3: Moving from traditional advertising to digital.
